FCE regional winners

The 36th Annual Tennessee Assn. of Family and Community Education (TAFCE), held their annual conference in Knoxville, TN at the Hilton Hotel, Nov. 5 - Nov. 8. Several FCE members from Marshall County attended this conference and were successful in competing. First and second place winners in each region enter the state competitions. Those from this county or the central region were: Emily Gordon received first place in Ceramics; Delores Johnson received first place in Machine Embroidery; Deborah Foster received second place in Fashion Review Accessories; and Peggy Hunter received second place in Fine Art Watercolor.

Also at the conference, Emily Gordon was installed as President of the Central Region FCE and Penny Christoph was installed as Secretary of the Central Region FCE.

While at the conference, the members attended educational sessions such as Christmas Decor, Wellness with Essential Oils, Flag Care and Folding, Know Your Computer, to name a few.

Family and Community Education (FCE) is a program offered through each county’s UT Extension Office. The Marshall County FCE has 4 meetings per month in Lewisburg, Ostella, NHC Oakwood and at the Extension Office.
