Saturday , November 18, 2017 was the eighth year for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. This was an idea of one of the tenants; “Let’s get people to bring a dish and we have a dinner for everyone. A chance to eat, talk and have fellowship with one another”. We have continued to have this dinner as it was a great idea. This dinner was held at the George W. Turner Center on Silver Street. There were over 100 people that signed in and approximately 40 plates delivered to the elderly and shut-ins. Turkeys were fried and ham’s baked, plus all the holiday trimmings. All kinds of homemade pies and cakes. A special thanks to the churches and all the people that brought a dish, all the people that helped serve, and those that delivered plates. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays.
