• MCHS Theatre 2 class presents The CONtest. This class is a combination of writers, actors, and directors. These skilled students have written and produced a fifty page play. From negotiating the title developing their characters and building the set, these hardworking students are ready to show off their theatre skills on Dec. 8 at the Marshall County High School in the Lecture Hall. Show will being at 6 p.m. and tickets will be sold at the door for $5. It’s Show time!

• Members of the Marshall County Amateur Radio Emergency Service will hold their quarterly meeting this Saturday, December 9, at 10 a.m., in the Marshall County Office of Emergency Management conference room, suite 100, at the Hardison Office Annex, 230 College Street, in Lewisburg. ARES® is the Amateur Radio Emergency Service, a program sponsored by ARRL - The National Association for Amateur Radio. The meeting will be held to distribute and discuss the new statewide Communicator Task Book. Volunteer amateur radio operators participating in the local ARES® program provide backup communications capabilities in the event of emergencies that may affect established communications systems of the various first responder agencies. ARES® members also offer free communications services for various events, such as bike rides, parades, walks, and other community activities. Membership in the ARES® program is open to all “ham” radio operators with an interest in public service. The Marshall County ARES® program is supported by both the Marshall County Amateur Radio Society and the Office of Emergency Management. • Chapel Hill Christmas parade starts at 4:30, Saturday, Dec. 9.

• The Cornersville United Methodist Church Choir, 100 South Mulberry Street Cornersville, would like to invite all to their Christmas Cantata, “COME LET US ADORE”- Saturday Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday Dec. 10 at 11 a.m.

• Rotary Club of Lewisburg Christmas Tour of Homes will take place Dec. 10, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds will benefit multiple Marshall County Charities. Tickets are on sale now at several businesses.

• LDA Mixer, Dec. 14, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Purple Elephant Coffee House, 123 West Commerce Street.

• COOKIES & CREFTS WITH SANTA will be at Henry Horton State Park Restaurant, Dec. 17, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Santa will be visiting the restaurant during lunch also. Everyone is welcome. Cookies and Crafts will follow. Admission to Cookies and Crafts is $3 per child.

• Medium United Methodist Church in Delina, TN, 453 Delina Boonshill Road, is celebrating their annual community Christmas program, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. There will be Christmas carols, finger foods, an exchange of Christmas presents ($10 limit), and a great time celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. • East Commerce Baptist Church, located at 560 East Commerce Street in Lewisburg, is hosting a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. on Sunday night, Dec. 24. The public is invited to attend.
