Lewis Milton Simmons
Mr. Lewis Milton Simmons, 85, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at NHC Lewisburg.
Mr. Simmons was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late John and Alma Wright Simmons. He retired as a tow motor operator at Heil Quaker and was a member of Church Street Church of Christ. He served his country in the Army in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Simmons, Sue Bingham, and Frances Davidson, and two brothers, Horace and Carlee Simmons. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Smith Simmons; three daughters, Patsy (Danny) Hanson of Lynnville, Ronda Humphrey of Lewisburg, and Judy (Robert) Conley of Fayetteville; one sister, Maxine Hart of Shelbyville; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin Tuesday evening, 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday until the funeral hour.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Church Street Church of Christ Scholarship Fund.
