Robert Lynn "Bobby" Johnson
Robert Lynn “Bobby” Johnson, 79, of Cornersville, died Monday, March 26, 2018, in Tristar Southern Hill Medical Center.
Bobby was a native of Petersburg, TN, born July 23, 1938, son of John Willie and Daisy Pearl Smith Johnson. He was a member of the graduating class of 1956 at Petersburg High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He had a great passion for basketball and was well known in Marshall and surrounding counties for his fairness as a referee in TSSAA basketball for twenty years. He served the city of Cornersville as an alderman and mayor in the early nineties. Bobby retired as a supervisor with International Comfort Products in 1994 and was a member of Cornersville First Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mary Jane Drake Johnson of Cornersville; two sons, Robert “Bob” (Gina) Johnson, Jr. of Cornersville, Bryan (Aleshia) Johnson of Caney Springs; four granddaughters, Allison (Michael) Veron, Chelsea Johnson, Brianna (Trent) Davis, and Carson Johnson; and two great granddaughters, Leah Davis and Lennon Veron.
Funeral services will be conducted by Arthur Payne, Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
The family will be at Cornersville Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. for visitation and Thursday until the funeral hour.
