If the Rockets were worried about finishing the Scotts Hill game with just five hits, they would not have to worry too much longer with the nightcap of the Single A Classic against Watertown starting a few hours later.

After scoring just five runs in the first three innings, the Rockets exploded for 13 runs in the fourth to finish with 14 hits in the five-inning, 18-0 run-rule win.

"I think we just got back to playing our baseball," Forrest coach Bart Joyce said. "We made plays in the field and had aggressive at bats, put the ball in play and made things happen.”

“Whenever we can get some guys on the base paths and we can run and manufacture runs, that's our thing."

Drew Daughrity pitched a near perfect game on the mound for the Rockets, with four innings of work and giving up just two hits, no walks, three strikeouts, and zero earned runs.

"My plan was to just throw strikes and let my defense back me up," Daughrity said. "Ground balls and getting the ball in the air some. Let my defense do the work."

"It makes it easier for me out there when we are hitting the ball so good," Daughrity added. "You don't have much to worry about."

Blaize Sweeney came on for the final inning and gave up one hit.

"Drew Daughrity did a good job on the mound with Blaize coming in to close," Joyce mentioned. "Both stayed on target and kept the pitch count low."

The Rockets bats were blazing.

Dustin Brashear, J.T. Ferguson, Jarvis Lyttle, Ethan Mealer and Jaylen Smith all finished with three hits apiece.

Lyttle, Mealer and Ryan Moses all added three runs batted in and Brashear finished with two RBIs.

Jarvis Lyttle finished with three runs batted in on two hits in the blowout.

The Rockets scored three runs in the first inning with Smith stealing home, Lyttle picking up an RBI up the middle before Sweeney scored on a bad throw over the first baseman's head.

Brashear pushed the lead to 4-0 with an RBI single to the right/center fence before crossing the plate on a Will Poston balk for a 5-0 lead.

Clinging to a 5-0 lead heading into the fourth inning, the Rockets put together the best hitting display of the season with 13 runs in the inning.

Ethan Mealer pushed the lead to 8-0 with a single into left field before Moses sent a shot deep over the left field fence next to the scoreboard for the three-run home run and an 11-0 score.

"I was just waiting for my pitch," Moses said. "Knowing my count, he had 2-0, he just put it in my spot and I hit it."

The rout continued with a Smith RBI single into left field and a Brashear deep fly out to right/center scored a tagging runner to push the lead to 13-0.

Mealer added to the total with a double to the left/center field fence for a 15-0 advantage before Lyttle added his third RBI of the day with a single up the middle and a 16-0 lead.

Lane Allen added an RBI before the final run of the inning was walked in for the 18-0 final.

"I think we didn't have our heads in the game during the first game today and we came back with a good attitude and the will to win, so we just played relaxed baseball," Moses said.
