William Gary Douglas
William Gary Douglas, 76, of the Ostella Community, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Douglas was a native of Nashville, TN, born on January 4, 1942, son of William Preston and Paulene Dillehay Douglas. He was a former owner of the Hiway 50 Drive-In Theater and Gary’s Place Restaurant for several years. He was a member of Catalpa Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and song leader.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Humble and sister, Betty Sowell. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, June Sowell Douglas of the Ostella community; three daughters, Donna (Rick) Looney of the Spring Place community, Karen (J.D.) Walker and Wendy (Jamey) Ridley all of Cornersville; two sons, Rick (Sherry) Douglas of Pine Mountain, GA and Billy (Selena) Douglas of Bell Buckle; ten grandchildren, Amber Douglas, Andrew, Matthew and Justin Looney, Blake and Faith Douglas, Kayden and Alex Walker, Kevin Trammell, and Jenna Ridley; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Tammie Calys; and spoiled dachshund, Chloe.
The family will be at London Funeral Home Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. for visitation.
Mr. Douglas body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Friday, April 27 at 2 p.m. from Catalpa Church of Christ. The family will visit one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catalpa Church of Christ or the Tennessee Children’s Home.
