J.R. Moon Golf Tournament Winners
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. June 19, 2018) - - - Columbia State Community College hosted the Rogers Group, Inc. 22nd Annual J.R. Moon Golf Classic June 8 at the Saddle Creek Golf Club in Lewisburg.
The J.R. Moon Golf Classic had another successful year because of Rogers Group, other community supporters and those teams that came out to play, said Bethany Lay, Columbia State vice president for advancement and executive director of the Columbia State Foundation. A driving force behind the scenes is the golf committee that works so hard and so well together.
The golf classic honors the late James R. Moon, businessman, industrialist, educator, golf enthusiast and outstanding citizen of Marshall County. The proceeds from this golf tournament benefit Marshall County students through scholarships and support of the Columbia State Community College Lewisburg Campus.
Many sponsors and donors showed their support, including Rogers Group Inc., title sponsor; First National Bank, lunch sponsor; First Farmers and Merchants Bank, putting contest sponsor; Roberts Toyota, hole-in-one contest sponsor; First Commerce Bank, player gift bag sponsor; Advanced Eyecare Clinic, cart sponser; and Lewisburg Printing, Beat the Pro contest sponsor. Other sponsors included Saddle Creek Golf Club and Sun Drop.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Will Wilson and Hugh Smith.
Columbia State Community College is a two-year college serving a nine-county area in southern Middle Tennessee with five campuses, including Columbia, Williamson, Lawrence, Lewisburg and Clifton. Columbia State was established in 1966 as Tennessee's first community college.
