Gun thefts on Southview Drive

The Lewisburg Police Department is investigating a rash of car burglaries that occurred on Southview Drive during the overnight hours of June 10.

Four separate reports were filed on that Sunday morning by residents of Southview Drive.

In each case, the residents reported that their vehicles, all of which were unlocked according to the narratives, had been entered over night.

Each resident reported that loaded handguns, two .45 caliber, a .44 magnum, and a 9 mm, valued altogether at more than $2,000, had been taken from their cars.

Detectives gathered evidence at the scene and entered available serial numbers into the national database.
