Bridge closure in Cornersville
The town of Cornersville announced that the Hatchett Hollow bridge will be closed to through traffic beginning on Monday, June 25, to allow for replacement of the structure.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation project is finally ready to begin construction after the initial proposal several years ago.
The replacement is budgeted at just under $550,000. The project was added to Gov. Bill Haslam’s IMPROVE Act last year, meaning that TDOT will fund the remaining costs, allowing the town to move $67,000 budgeted for matching funds on the bridge into the town’s street paving budget for the coming year.
Construction is scheduled to last until August 31. Drivers are reminded to find alternate routes during this period.
