Babe Ruth All Stars go undefeated to claim district title

The Marshall County Babe Ruth League 13-15 year-old All-Stars swept through the District Tournament at Pulaski last weekend to claim the title. Marshall County hosts the state tournament at the Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Field in Lewisburg, beginning Friday July 13.

The Marshall County Babe Ruth League 13-15 year-old all-stars travelled to Pulaski for the District 8 Tournament last weekend and pummeled the competition, pulling off a three-game sweep to claim the championship.

Marshall County opened with an 8-2 win over the hosts with Carson Cheek picking up the win on the mound.

In game two, Marshall County obliterated South Williamson 22-0 as they banged out 14 hits in the ballgame and Logan Courtemanche and Ethan Hollis combined for a one-hitter.

Marshall County and Giles County met in the district title game and beat the hosts in a close 4-1 contest.

Marshall County only had seven hits in the game, but didnít need many as Zack Graves started on the hill for Marshall County and combined with Logan McKnight for a no-hitter.

Marshall County hosts the state tournament, beginning on Friday, July 13 at the Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Babe Ruth Field in Lewisburg.
