Reed races to gold

Friday, July 20, 2018
Lewisburg Mayor Jim Bingham and Parks and Recreation Director Cary Whitesell congratulated Michael A. Reed at last Tuesday’s council meeting for his recent showing in the Tennessee Senior Olympics. Reed, who is the indoor maintenance supervisor at the Rec Center, entered the event for the first time this year, winning a gold medal and two silvers in different race walking events. “I’ve always been a fast walker,” Reed told the council. He said that the shirt, signed by the staff at the Rec Center, helped push him along faster during his events. His showing has qualified him for the national level Senior Olympics next year in New Mexico.
