The Tabernacle celebrates 23 years

In August 1995, Tim and Tina Atkisson, with their young sons, started New Life Family Tabernacle. The church was located off the square on West Commerce. In 1999, they moved to their present location at 591 Fox Lane where they worship today.

Pastor Atkisson is a 1981 graduate of Marshall County High School. He began ministering in 1990. This year he became the full-time pastor at The Tabernacle after being bi-vocational for the past 23 years. Since this transition, the church has been blessed and grown in number. Anthony Atkisson, 24 year old son of Pastor Atkisson, is the Youth Pastor and Music Director.

Recently it was decided to shorten the name of the church from New Life Family Tabernacle to The Tabernacle. Tim states, “We are a United Pentecostal Church that believes in the book of Acts. We worship and pray out loud, we believe in healings, miracles, and deliverance.” It has been said that The Tabernacle is the friendliest church in town. The church’s motto is, “We ae not the judge of your past, but a guide to your future.”

The church will be celebrating their 23rd Anniversary with services scheduled for August 24th-26th. Bro. Stan Cook, who is a former member of The McGruders will be preaching and singing in the services. Services on Friday and Saturday will be at 7 p.m. and the Homecoming service on Sunday at 2 p.m. You can also be a part of our services live on Facebook at The Tabernacle page.

Pastor Atkisson teaches a lot about End Time Prophecies and offers Home Bible Studies. If you would like to know more about the church you can contact him at 931-637-3345.
