Mary Katherine Williams release new single
Marshall County’s own Mary Katherine Williams announces her new single, “Horses, Harley’s, Honky Tonks and Him” with her upcoming release party at the Elks Lodge on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m.
“I’ve lived in Tennessee the majority of my life,” Williams said. “There were other reasons why we moved, but the number one reason was music.”
According to Williams, music has always been a huge part of her life. Even though she has taken breaks, she always finds her way back to it.
Her music career actually took off during the final season of American Idol. In 2016, Williams was recognized in the top 51 artists.
Shortly after her appearance on American Idol, BAM Records of Nashville discovered her talent and signed Williams. Since then, she has been in the studio recording.
She teased the track on RFD-TV and The 615 Hideaway before releasing the details about her release party. Her new single will be available on Oct. 14 on iTunes.
“Horses, Harley’s, Honky Tonks and Him” is co-written by Leslie Satcher, Danielle Bourjeaurd, and Buddy Jewell. Buddy Jewell, a well-respected American singer-songwriter, had the original idea for the track.
“I’ve been carrying it around for 10-15 years,” Jewell said. I had originally written the song for a man with ‘her’ on the end, but when I sat down with Leslie and Danielle, they wondered if we could change it to a woman’s point of view with ‘him’ in the title.”
“I knew that I could do the song justice and that it would be a great first single for me,” Williams said.
Williams will perform her new single and other songs. Admission is free. Children are welcome to attend.
There will be free food and giveaways.
