Lowe honored at In His Image benefit

In His Image Pregnancy Resource Center held the annual benefit recently at the Lewisburg Recreation Center banquet room.

A delicious meal from Russell Catering was served by the Sub Deb Club and the Chapel Hill Beta Club and was enhanced by the beautiful decorations made by Designer Elizabeth Lewis and her team.

The guest speaker was Miss America Tara Christensen who gave an inspiring speech about abstinence until marriage and wowed the attendees with a beautiful vocal rendition of Blessed Assurance. She fully supports the message of Pro Life Pregnancy Centers.

A former client gave her testimony of how this organization helped her at a time in life when she needed the resources that only this organization gives. She continued her education and is now a productive member in our community helping others. In His Image PRC is known as a ministry giving a hand up during a stressful time in a new motherís life and equipping her to be the best mom and person she can be.

Executive Director Shirley Lowe gave an update of the Centerís statistics, including 27 babies born in 2017, 27 new clients, and a total of 522 office visits and 2,516 hours and 15 minutes of volunteer time given by 23 volunteers.

She also released the news that In His Image PRC now has a permanent home with the August 31 purchase of the building they have rented for five years. Tara reminded the guests that now the Center has a mortgage instead of rent.

The director was surprised with an announcement from PRC board treasurer Mike Sherrell that the building will bear the name of Shirley Lowe.

Master of Ceremonies and Chairman of the Board Mike Lee amused the crowd with his sense of humor during the Menís Contest and the auctions.

It was a memorable evening and a record amount of money was raised for this non-profit organization.

The PRC has four main directives:

1) Free Pregnancy Tests (counseling available for both positive and negative results).

2) Material Resources for Mommy-To-Be and baby items from birth through 3Toddler in an on site Baby Boutique, managed by Volunteer Deb Chambers. Clients purchase these items with points they earn by taking prenatal and parenting classes.
