As part of the ribbon cutting marking the completion of an extensive renovation to the McDonald’s on Ellington Parkway, the restaurant held an open house to show off the new features and look.

Part of the festivities included a presentation from owner Tim Funderburk of a $1,500 award to Westhills Elementary School in Lewisburg. The check will complete funding for the school’s new television network.

The student-led station will broadcast news, public service announcements, and other informational programming. The programs will be shown to students during lunch and breakfast.

Principal Rachel Perryman, Technology Coordinator Maury Wood, and students Reagan Harris, Karlie Lohr, and Reid Mitchell accepted the generous grant on behalf of Westhills.
