Turkey Time in Chapel Hill
This time of year brings on a lot of different feelings to many different people. Children are ready for the holidays. High schools are finishing up football season, and basketball is right around the corner. For Chapel Hill, November has always held a special feeling of joy. This joy is turkey supper. It is a time when members of the community come together to be thankful for a small town with great traditions. Over some turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, and pie, the community members of Chapel Hill gather to reminisce about the good old days or share in the wonders of their amazing children in school now. The walls are covered in many decorations from the children of Chapel Hill Elementary, and you can see the love in the building on everyone’s face. CHES is also very proud of the very successful silent auction, which is made up of donations from various and personnel around the community. Many big school purchases are funded through the profits of the silent auction.
The turkey supper is at CHES on Nov. 9 this year from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale in the office at Chapel Hill Elementary. The price is $7 for an adult plate and $4 for a child’s plate. The silent auction is from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the playroom. Come on out and support a great cause, and maybe experience a little taste of joy and tradition.
