After completing a sweep over Lewis County on Monday, the Forrest hoops teams travelled to Cascade where the tables got turned on Chapel Hill as they got swept at Wartrace.

The Forrest Lady Rockets turned in their lowest point total of the season as a cold wave swept through their shooting in a 42-32 loss.

Forrest led 18-15 at the half and held a one-point lead at the end of the third period before going ice cold from the field with the Lady Rockets’ lone fourth quarter points coming on a Carissa Curtis 3-pointer.

Cascade put up 14 points in the final period to claim its first win over Forrest since 2013.

Ally Blanton led the Lady Rockets in the scoring column with 13 points, Jaide Langley had 12, Curtis added five, and Sydney Hill netted a deuce.

Spencer McCown (10) had six points in the Rockets’ 51-48 loss at Cascade Tuesday night.

The Rockets, coming off huge back-to-back wins over Summertown and Lewis County looked like they might make it three in row and were even at the half with the Champions 23-23.

Forrest’s Martin Stewart scored seven out of his team-high 12 points in the third quarter as the Rockets took a one-point, 29-28 lead to the fourth period.

The Champions charged ahead by six points in the fourth quarter until the Rockets stormed back and they had the ball with a chance to tie the game at the end.

A buzzer-beater was off the mark and the Champs escaped with the three-point win to sweep the season series over Forrest.

Cameron Curtis scored 11 points, Ty Hengesbach had nine, Sam Ford added eight, Spencer McCown pitched in six, and Mitchell Everett rounded out the Forrest scoring with a deuce.

The two teams combined for some woeful free throw shooting (20-for-47) with Cascade going 9-for-28 and the Rockets only made 11-of-19 from the charity stripe.
