James Michael "The Legend" Cozart
James Michael “The Legend” Cozart, 63, of the Wheel Community, took his final ride to be with his Savior, on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019. James passed on from this life at his home surrounded by his family, friends, his buddy “Bobbi” and his horse Chocolate.
The last roundup with friends and family will be held at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with pastor Bobby McGee officiating. Entombment to follow in the Wheel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, Jan. 15, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born March 31, 1955, in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Robert Allen Cozart & Hilda Ruth Adams Cozart. James was an over-the-road trucker for 43 years. He was first and foremost a cowboy at heart, who loved long trail rides with his riding buddies. He loved his horses, especially Chocolate. He was a member of the Rough Riders and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Teresa Butts Cozart; children, Chase Cozart of Wheel, Mike Cozart of Delina, Heath Cook of Wartrace & Michelle Cozart of Belfast; brothers; Steve Cozart of Lewisburg and Ricky Cozart of Belfast.
