In the first meeting between the LMS Tigerettes and the FMS Lady Rockets on November 6 at Chapel Hill, Forrest took a close 24-19 win over Lewisburg.

Monday night at Lewisburg, FMS completed a series sweep over its intra-county rival with a 24-11 win.

Neither team scored in double digits in any of the four quarters, while the Tigerettes never managed more than four points in any period.

Demiyah Blackman hit one free throw early in the contest and the Lady Rockets went scoreless for several minutes until Briley Burnham nailed a field goal.

A Karli Warner rebound and put-back put FMS in front 4-1 and that’s the way it stayed until another Blackman foul shot.

On the next to the last possession of the first quarter, Macyn Kirby drilled a 3-pointer to make it a 7-2 contest.

FMS’ Meagan Mealer takes the ball to the rack for two points after a steal in the second half.

Meagan Mealer hit one-of-two from the free throw to start the second period and Warner added another bucket in the low post moments later to give FMS a 10-2 lead.

Both squads went cold again until LMS’ Caraline Hollingsworth made two free throws with 1:27 left in the second quarter and the final basket of the first half came on Anilee Dippold’s only field goal of the game for Forrest.

Macyn Kirby pulls up for jumper for two of her game-high 7 points in the Lady Rockets’ 24-11 win at Lewisburg.

FMS came out in the third quarter and put the Tigerettes in a deeper hole at 18-5 as they scored the first six points on a Jayden Coleman bucket in the low post and field goals by Kirby and Mealer.

LMS broke the 6-0 FMS run on its lone field goal of the contest when Dorian Haislip grabbed a rebound and put it back in the basket.

There was no more scoring in the third quarter as FMS took an 18-7 to the fourth quarter.

Dorian Haislip scores the only field of the game for the Tigerettes in the second half.

Kirby swiped the ball and scored to start the final period and baskets by Coleman and Mealer in the paint gave the Lady Rockets a big 24-7 lead.

Forrest did not score again in the game and the only points scored by LMS came on two Hollingsworth free throws and one charity shot apiece by Haislip and Blackman.
