On November 6 at Chapel Hill, the LMS Tigers lost a triple overtime thriller 65-60.

On Monday at Lewisburg, it wasn’t even close as the Tigers routed FMS 48-23.

Montai Vaughn and Kintorius Morris did heavy damage to the Rockets’ ship as they both netted 14 points apiece to outscore Forrest as a two-some.

Kintorius Morris (2) pulls up for a jumper in the lane for two of his 14 points in the contest.

Morris scored the first six points of the contest on a drive to the hoop, a foul shot, and a 3-pointer before Josh Rumley cut the lead to 6-4 on one free throw and a deep ball.

Morris knocked down another 3-pointer and Vaughn added a bucket as the Tigers pulled away again.

FMS’ Brenton Burchell (4) drains a 3-pointer in the first half for the Rockets, who lost 48-23 at Lewisburg.

A Brenton Burchell trey by Forrest staved off the Tigers for a moment, but back-to-back field goals by Demari Braden at the end of the first quarter gave Lewisburg a 15-7 lead.

One Tayton Swift free throw kicked off the second quarter before the LMS duo struck again as they combined evenly for eight points to extend the Tigers’ lead to 23-8 with 4:06 remaining in the first half.

Forrest’s Brennan Mealer came up with back-to-back low post buckets before Morris drained another long bomb and the first half ended with LMS in front 26-13.

Brennen Mealer goes strong to the rack for two points in the second half versus the Tigers.

A pair of Thomas Beech baskets spurred an LMS 7-0 run that extended deep into the third quarter.

The Rockets finally scored on a Rumley free throw and they trailed 39-17, entering the fourth period.

Both coaches emptied the benches for the fourth quarter and the Tigers outscored the Rockets 9-6 to take the 25-point win and even the season series.

FMS’ Preston Gentry hit a 3-pointer and Jimmy Bond, Cage Caldwell, and Will Bennett all made one free throw in the fourth quarter for the Rockets, while Jayden Randolph nailed a 3-pointer and Vaughn, David Estep, and Jonathon Bair all had one field goal apiece for the Tigers.
