Mary Elizabeth Hobby, 93, of Belfast, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at NHC Lewisburg.

Mrs. Hobby was a native of Russellville, KY, the daughter of the late Roscoe Owen and Nannie Bell Poor Hughes. She was of Baptist faith and was the former Belfast Postmaster.

Preceded in death by her husband, Guy Hobby in 2003, she is survived by her daughter, Gayle (John) Cook of Belfast; grandson, Matt (Meghan) Cathey of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Lee (Adam) Perryman of Lewisburg; great-granddaughters, Paige Fuller and Abbie Perryman; sister-in-law, Ann Hughes of Evansville, IN; three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Round Hill Cemetery in Belfast, Tn.

The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Monday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and on Tuesday until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
