Curtis Reams Vandiver
Mr. Curtis Reams Vandiver, 86, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, April 14, 2019, at VA of Murfreesboro.
Mr. Vandiver was a native of Maury County, the son of the late Oliver David and Ida England Vandiver. He was a 1959 graduate of MTSU, and began working for Brown Engineering in Huntsville during the missile launches leading up to the lunar missions. In 1964, the company and Mr. Vandiver moved to Lewisburg where the company later became Teledyne. He retired in 1998, as a field engineer for the UT Center for Industrial Services after 25 years. He was a long time member of Church Street Church of Christ, serving as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and elder. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Patrice White “Pat” Vandiver of Lewisburg; daughter, Amy Vandiver Maddox of Murfreesboro; two sons, David Curtis Vandiver of Pensacola, FL and Douglas Reams Vandiver of Murfreesboro; sister, Milbrey Adean Hatcher of Murfreesboro; granchildren, Haley Vandiver (Jacob) Mobbs, Conner Christian (Maddie) Vandiver, Rachel Maddox, Sarah Elizabeth Vandiver, Ryan Michael Maddox, Beau Stallings, and Mikayla Stallings; great-granchildren, Addilyn Harper Mobbs, Emerie McClain Mobbs, and Nora Avery Vandiver.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday and will continue until the funeral hour.
