County squads prepare for upcoming district tournaments

The Forrest Rockets hosted the Cornersville Bulldogs for an intra-county rivalry contest on Senior Night at Chapel Hill on Thursday and after five innings of play, bad weather came in and the game was called due to rain, ending in a 5-5 tie.

The Class A sixth-ranked Bulldogs (21-3-1) are the number one seed, hold home field advantage, and have a first round bye in the District 8-A Tournament after winning the regular season district title last week . The Bulldogs open up in second round tournament action on Friday when they host the winner of the first-round, four/five seed game that pits (4) Cascade vs. (5) Fayetteville on Thursday. (3) Moore County and (6) Huntland square off in Thursday’s first round action and the winner takes on second-seeded Eagleville in the double elimination tournament that runs through Tuesday, May 7.
