A delegation from Marshall County traveled to Franklin on Sunday to attend the Twelfth Annual Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards ceremony and celebrate Barb Blackmore, who received this year’s award for her efforts in the county.
Blackmore began Moms On A Mission in 2005 to send care packages to deployed soldiers all over the world. She was cited as “an individual who goes above and beyond to serve our active-duty military personnel serving overseas by ensuring they are not forgotten here on the home front.”
