Claire Connell, a fifth-grader at Delk-Henson Intermediate School in Chapel, claimed first place in the 9-to-11U division at the inaugural Keeper Wars soccer goalie event in Murfreesboro last weekend.
She was also the first place winner for the U9-11 age group girls.
With the first place finish, Connell qualified for the National Tournament in Texas in July and is coached by Shawn Trittin, who runs the Trittin Keeper Program.
