Enrique Ernesto Morantes, 80, of Alice, Tx, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at his home in Belfast, TN. He was reunited with his parents Daniel Morantes and Reyes Garza Morantes; brothers Raymond Morantes, and Jose Morantes.
He is survived by his wife, Micha Shin of Belfast, TN; two daughters, Laura Utter of Belfast, TN and Nancy Shindler of Sherman, TX; two sons, Enrique Ernesto, Jr. of Oxnard, CA, Richard Park of Oxnard, CA; six grandchildren, Johnny Park, Mason Morantes, Meagan Shindler, Aiden Shindler, Sasha Utter, Sophia Utter; two brothers, Daniel Morantes, Jr., David Morantes; four sisters, Delia Rodriguez, Alicia Salinas, Frances Salinas, Maria Ester DeLeon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Enrique served proudly in the United States Army for 15 years of active duty, four of which he was stationed in Vietnam and Korea and was awarded medals, achievements and commendations for his service as a Field Artillery Radar crewman. He later retired as a Materials Expeditor from the Corpus Christi Army Depot. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Morantes will be cremated and the family will hold a private service at a later date.
