Top-seeded Game Time beat Nichirin in round one of the Gold Bracket playoffs before taking on Columbia neighbor Red Birds in round two and they remained undefeated in the postseason with a come from behind 9-3 win.

The Red Birds struck first with a pair of first inning runs as Andy Reed reached on a leadoff error and Jake Uselton bashed a single before Chris Gilbert walked to load the bases and Bryson Jones followed with another walk to drive in Reed.

Koen Fagan followed with an RBI fielder’s choice before Game Time starting pitcher Cole Taylor settled in with inning-ending back-to-back strikeouts.

Usleton walked the first three batters he faced in the bottom of the inning with Jake Tegeler scoring on a passed ball on the third base on balls.

Caleb Kincaid drove home Corey Paterick with an RBI single and Lincoln English gave Game Time the lead with a fielder’s choice RBI.

Two batters later, a Keaton Umstead RBI base hit to right field made it 4-2.

There was no scoring in the second inning, but a one-out single by Gilbert in the top of the third inning led to an unearned run when he stole second base, took off for third on a steal and scored on a wild throw to make it 4-3.

Game Time got the run back in the home half of the inning to make it 5-3 and the Red Birds left a runner on second with two outs in the top of the fourth.

Game Time scored four more runs in the bottom of the inning with the big blow coming on a Kincaid two-run single before time ran out on the Red Birds three batters later.
