Gary Spivey, 74, resident of Lewisburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gary was born Jan. 18, 1948, in Lewisburg and was the son of the late Brence Spivey and the late Mabel Stinnett Spivey. He graduated from Cornersville High School in 1966 and worked in construction and concrete. He was known to many as “Smoke” and was always seen with his tobacco pipe. He enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews with trips to get candy and ice cream after Sunday dinners. Gary was a kind man always helping mow or get the mail for his neighbors. He treasured spending time with people and had special nicknames for everyone. Most of all, he had a great love for his dog and companion, Babydoll. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his nieces, Shelia (Scott) Childress, Christal (Kelley) Peete, Wendy (Darryl) Spivey, and Misty Spivey; nephew, Tony (Dena) Peete; and several great nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Jean Spivey and brother, Mike Spivey.
