A new service of In His Image Pregnancy Resource Center released during the first week of August.

Thanks to many donations from churches and individuals, mommies-to-be will be able to see their unborn babies by way of a free ultrasound.

Martin Ryan and John Rawe representing St. John’s Catholic Church approached Executive Director Shirley Lowe about a year ago offering to match funds secured for the project. The two men, along with many friends at their church, ignited enthusiasm not only within their congregation but with other churches and individuals locally and at a distance. After the money was raised, the full color, 4-D state of the art machine was ordered.

Jeannie Croffut, Jeannie Cockerill. and their team from First Assembly of God began renovating the counseling room and the operatory to make it more “spa like”. The Derryberry Company got involved with new flooring and cabinetry. Updated electrical, lighting, and new ceiling completes the beautiful setting.

During the process, three Registered Nurses, Glinda Stahl, who agreed to serve as the nurse manager, Kaitlin Brindle and Jodi Porter volunteered to take the training and donate their services to make the scans. Dr. Alison Tucker kindly agreed to become the Medical Director.

With all positions filled, the next project would be getting the patients. This was such an opportunity for the patients to see their unborn baby. Calls, emails, and texts quickly came forward.

This is the sixth area of service offered by the PRC. The other services are: 1) The 99.9% accurate pregnancy tests and information on options for both negative and positive results. 2) Prenatal and Parenting Classes: More than 100 prenatal and parenting classes are available by DVD with assistance from peer counselors where points can be earned to spend in the beautiful Baby Boutique. 3) Abstinence classes for 7th and 8th grade students in the three Marshall County middle schools. 4) Post Abortion Recovery classes for those who regret a past abortion decision. 5) Life After Loss program for those grieving the loss of a child due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or the loss of a child during the first year of life.

All PRC services are free and are made possible by donations from businesses, individuals and churches. In His Image Pregnancy Resource Center is a non-denominational, non-political pro-life organization. It is located at 101 3rd Avenue North in Lewisburg.
