Ms. Rose Skillern, 81, of Lewisburg, TN, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in Columbia, TN. Born in Rose Hill, VA, Rose was a daughter of the late Lester and Almira Daniel Wilder. In addition to her parents, Ms. Skillern is preceded in death by her husbands, William T. Blackwell who passed in 1981 and Charles Skillern who passed in 2017; brothers, Jessie James Wilder and Howard Wilder; and sister, Laura Bell Wilder.
Ms. Skillern was a member of the Cornersville Church of Christ, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Marshall County Art Guild. Rose will be remembered as a gifted painter, an excellent cook and baker of cakes. She enjoyed growing flowers, cooking meals for her family, spending time with her friends at church and the Art Guild, traveling, and holidays.
Rose is survived by her children, Randy Blackwell of Bristol, TN, Amy L. Blackwell of Lewisburg, TN, Donna E. Blackwell of Lewisburg, TN; grandchildren, Angela Wallace, Jessica Rogers, Alyson Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Laken Newcomb, Grayson Graybell, Ryan Graybell, Fallon Rogers; sister, Betty (Jerry) Byers of Dallas, GA; brother, Tommy (Cheryl) Martin of Chapel Hill, TN; several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend of the family, Dennis Hunter.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 9 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Reed-Walker Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Jean officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service.
