A shooting on Tuesday sent two Lewisburg men to hospitals.
Around 1 p.m. July 7, shots were fired in the parking lot of Marshall County Plaza on the west side of Lewisburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that a disagreement of some sort took place, leading to gunfire.
One victim, Javarria Rucker of Lewisburg, was airlifted to a Huntsville hospital for treatment.
Rucker graduated from Marshall County High School last month.
Trevin Pigg, identified by witnesses, was seen fleeing the scene following the gunshots.
Pigg left the scene on foot, leading to an hour-long search by Lewisburg Police and Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies through adjoining neighborhoods before he was apprehended without incident at his residence on Skyline Drive.
Pigg was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.
The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact LPD’s Criminal Investigation Division at 359-3800.
