The Marshall County all-stars began day one of the Babe Ruth World Series with a 10-6 win over Angola, IN behind a big 11-hit attack and a stellar relief effort by Leah Hollingsworth in the circle, before shocking the hosts Santa Fe squad in a last inning come-from-behind 3-2 miracle victory to move to 2-0 in pool play.
The story of tournament so far has been the outstanding play by Samantha King, who went 2-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored in game one, plus the go-ahead base hit, but if that wasn't good enough, King crowned that effort with a complete game effort on the hill in game two and drove home all three of Marshall County's runs in the sixth inning on a two-out, bases juiced double.
