A report of a man resembling an escaped prisoner from west Tennessee caused some concern Thursday morning but, after investigation, proved to be false.
A possible sighting of Curtis Ray Watson, 44, in Lewisburg led to soft lock downs at county buildings while law enforcement investigated.
Marshall County Sheriff Billy Lamb told the Tribune that the subject had been located and was not Watson.
Watson escaped from the West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning on Wednesday and is a person of interest in the death of the prison’s administrator, whose body was found in her residence.
The Marshall County School Board had also put a soft lock down in place for area schools, but that status has been lifted for the rest of the day after the all clear was issued.
