The Marshall County Tigerettes picked up their first win of the season at Cascade Tuesday night, coming away with a 48-34 victory over the Lady Champions.
The Tigerettes (1-4) scored 15 points in the first and second periods, while holding Cascade (0-4) to just 10 points in the first half to take a 20-point lead at the break.
The Lady Champions outscored MCHS 15-12 in the third period as the Tigerettes’ took a comfortable 17-point margin to the fourth quarter.
Karlye Wiser, Demiyah Blackman, and Dionna Crutcher scored one field goal apiece in the fourth quarter as the Tigerettes held on for the 14-point win.
Wiser was the only Tigerette in double figures in the scoring column with 10 points.
Crutcher ended up with nine points, Blackman had eight, Israel Hurt and Sydney Tidwell had six points apiece, Kayla Keiler added four, Caroline Hollingsworth had three points, and Madziyonna Calloway added a deuce.
The Tigerettes’ game versus Antioch on November 28 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic as is Friday’s home game versus Richland.
Marshall County will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Columbia Lady Lions, who beat MCHS 40-38 in Columbia on November 24.
