Some things are just bigger than baseball.
Last fall, Kade Shultz was in a wreck that left him with a concussion and a knee dislocation.
After being transported to North Alabama Medical Center, it was discovered the blood flow was severely restricted to both legs.
Through various surgeries and the battle of his life, Shultz has made significant progress in his recovery.
Throughout the whole process of his recovery, the mid-state has unified in support of Shultz to help support him on his recovery.
On Monday, the Marshall County Tigers showed their support for Shultz, who attends Lawrence County High School.
During pre-game warmups, the Tigers donned t-shirts, which all sported the No. 3 and Shultz’ name on the back.
While traditionally a short stop, Shultz took on a new position on Monday afternoon as he threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the District 8-AAA game against the Tigers.
Marshall County coach Mike “Monk” Reese then presented Shultz with a baseball, signed by all current Tigers players.
