Bulldogs on cusp of first state title
Cornersville junior quarterback Eli Woodard scored the only touchdown in the Bulldogs’ Class A semifinal 7-0 win over Lake County Friday night at Frog Bottom. The Bulldogs (13-1) take on Greenback (13-1) in the Class A state title game in the BlueCross Bowl Thursday at 11 a.m. on the campus of Tennessee Tech University at Cookeville. Cornersville is vying for its first state title, while the 1987 state champion Cherokees are looking to avenge a 62-27 loss to Dresden in last year’s Class A state championship game.
