After dropping a 3-0 decision to Wayne County in their season opener four days earlier, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-2 on the pitch when they suffered a 10-0 road loss on Monday night to a powerful Columbia Academy squad that has outscored its first three opponent's this year by a grand total of 29-0.

The Lady Bulldogs had an opportunity to spoil the shutout in the 70th minute when they were awarded a penalty kick after Columbia Academy was called for a foul in the goalie box, but CHS's Alexis Easterwood fired the shot over the top of the net.
Improvement ahead
"We're a young team, but we're going to improve. I think the girls kept playing hard tonight," said Cornersville coach Sherrie Campbell. "You have to hand it to Columbia Academy they have a really good program."
CA put almost constant pressure on the Lady Bulldog net and outshot Cornersville 32-5 overall. Columbia Academy had two players record hat tricks in the match, as Abigail Wolfe spearheaded CA's offensive onslaught by scoring four goals and dishing out one assist, while Chamberlain Green tallied three goals and an assist. Jallie Gillespie, Anna Marie DeJarnette, and Makayla Davidson notched one goal apiece for Columbia Academy as well with Gillespie and DeJarnette registering two and one assist respectively.
"This is my first year coaching them so I'm still trying to learn their strengths and weaknesses. It does appear that we have a number of girls that can finish so that is definitely a good thing," said CA coach Zach Kittrell.
Forward Autumn Sheroski led Cornersville with four shot attempts, while Easterwood attempted one shot.
