Arrested on a warrant for theft over $10,000
* Kyle T. Fessel, 29, Forrest Run Drive. Bond: $7,500; court date: Dec. 18. According to the affidavit of complaint sworn by Special Agent Mitchell Thompson of CSX, Fessel, a railroad employee, stole $24,430-worth of wire from the CSX railroad yard in Lewisburg.
Thefts and vandalism reported
* On Nov. 18 a Chapel Hill man reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Department someone had driven around in his field at Academy Lane and Comstock Road, cutting doughnuts. This caused $2,500-worth of damage to the crop of orchard grass and oats.
* Sometime between Sept. 17 and 30, a grain wagon was taken from a barn on Coleman Road. The wagon has a green grain box and the trailer part is orange. The entrance gates to the property were pulled down. Owner valued the wagon and gates at $1,700.
* Between 4 and 7 p.m. Nov. 11, someone forced open the front door of a home on 7th Avenue North and stole a 42-inch Toshiba flatscreen TV worth $1,500. Damage to the doorframe will cost an estimated $50 to repair.
* On Nov. 13, someone entered a home on Hull Avenue through the unlocked back door and took an Xbox, a Yamaha electric keyboard, a .357 handgun, and a jewelry box. A value for the jewelry and the gun was not stated in the police report, but the Xbox and keyboard were worth $350.
* A Playstation 3 worth $270 was reported missing from a home on Glenn Avenue on Nov. 10, but there was no sign of forced entry.
* On Nov. 13, 20 small pictures with wooden frames, an antique whiskey carrying case, and an antique ashtray, worth a total of $250, were reported missing from a rental property on Greenwood Road, Chapel Hill.
* On Nov. 13, someone entered a home on Verona Caney Road and took prescription medication, a roll of net fencing, and Mickey Mouse items including a music carousel, a picture frame, a stapler, and a statue. Total value of the missing property was estimated at $192.25.
* Between 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 and 5:30 a.m. Nov. 13, someone cut the front passenger tire of a car parked at the owner's home on Buchanan Street. The tire was valued at $30.
* On Nov. 13, police were called to a business on Nashville Highway because someone had entered through a garage door. Inside the building a wooden door, a sliding glass window, and a section of drywall were damaged; a fire extinguisher had been emptied on the floor; and a series of strange words had been spray painted on the walls.
