About 2 a.m. May 20, Lewsiburg Police Officer Jeremy Chapman was at a local Shell Station when an employee told him about a couple who pumped gas and had their card declined when they tried to pay. As a result of interviewing the pair, the following arrests were made:

* James G. Riddle, 48, Hartselle, Ala. Bond: $2,500; court date: June 3. Charges: public intoxication and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

* Lisa Marie Puckett, 20, Hartselle, Ala. Bond: $1,000; court date: June 3. Charge: underage consumption.

The couple's five-month-old daughter was released to the Department of Children's Services.

Arrested on 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force warrants

* Amanda G. Tomas, 30, 4th Avenue North. Bond: $12,000; court date: June 11. Charges: delivery of a Schedule III drug and possession of a Schedule III drug with intent to deliver.

* Emmett Roseman, 66, address not given. Bond: $16,000; court date: June 11. Charges: possession of a Schedule III drug with intent to deliver; sale of a Schedule III drug; and simple possession of a Schedule II drug.

Arrested on warrants for simple possession of a Schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia

* Shawn R. Urquhart, 34, 4th Avenue North. Bond: $2,000; court date: June 11.

Arrested on a warrant for possession of a Schedule II drug with intent to resell

* Tracy I. Urquhart, 37, 4th Avenue North. Bond: $7,500; court date: June 11.

Thefts and vandalism reported

* Between 4 and 7:30 a.m. May 17, a 2009 blue Volkswagen Routan was stolen from where it was parked in the driveway of the owner's home on Highway 270, Chapel Hill. The car was found on May 19 in Bedford County, with damage to the front end consistent with hitting a large animal.

* On May 19, a man who has a corn field on Wade Brown Road reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Derpartment that the neighbor's cows were in his field, and had damaged three acres of corn so badly it was a total loss, valued at $5,000.

* Between May 3 and 13, someone removed property belonging to Ricky Hargrove from a site where he was working on Mooresville Highway, west of I-65. The missing property is worth $3,000 and includes a Honda air compressor, a Watts generator, two tool boxes with assorted tools, a 12-volt loader battery, and a 450C J. D. loader carb.

* A Shelbyville man reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Derpartment he had a flat tire on his 1969 Chevelle on May 17, and left his car near the junction of Palmetto Cemetery Road and Highway 64 while he went home to get tools. When he got back to the car on May 19, he found the driver's side door had been hit, the windshield and driver's window were broken, the head liner and seats were cut, the battery was missing, and someone had tried to set the car on fire, damaging the carpet. Owner estimates it will cost $2,000 to repair the damage.

* A Lewisburg woman reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Department an ATM card with $806 on it, mailed to her by the Internal Revenue Service for her tax refund, was taken before she received it and used at two ATMs on April 25 to withdraw all the money.

* A Lewisburg man visited his farm on Hunter Road the morning of May 16. Shortly after he left, a neighbor called to say his gate had been knocked down. Returning to the farm, the victim found someone had rammed the gate, and then entered his garage and taken four tractor batteries, one small battery, and two scrap batteries. Total value of the stolen batteries is $600; cost of repairing damage caused by cutting cables to get the batteries out was not stated.

* A Lewisburg woman reported to the Police Department a friend ransacked her bedroom and took $420 from her wallet while she was in the shower.

* Sometime before May 19, things worth a total of $235 were taken from a barn on John Barnes Road. The missing items include three large pipe wrenches, six cast iron skillets, two old cornbread sticks, one old paper weight, two brass bells, and an old jewelry box.

* Between May 12 and 14, someone took a Stihl string trimmer, worth $30, from the back porch of a home on Patrick Drive.

* James E. Hargrove, 73, Cummings Circle. Bond: $2,000; court date: June 11.

Arrested and charged with driving under the influence

* Michael B. Cantrell, 42, Boyette Avenue. Bond: $3,000; court date: June 3. Cantrell was also charged with violation of the implied consent law, and driving without a license. This is allegedly Cantrell's fifth DUI.

Arrested on a warrant for aggravated assault

* Anthony T. McMillan, 22, Nashville. Bond: $7.500; court date: June 3.

Arrested and charged with domestic assault

* Ernest Francis Jr., 38, Sanders Street. Bond: $1,000; court date: June 3.

* Matthew B. Russell, 32, Columbia. Bond: $1,500; court date: June 3.

* Travis Yates, 20, Joanne Circle. Bond: $2,500; court date: June 3. Yates was charged with two counts of domestic assault, and also charged with public intoxication.

Arrested and charged with public intoxication

* Allen B. Bennett, 53, Murray Street. Bond: $500; court date: July 15.

* Paul D. Campbell, 47, Mooresville Highway. Bond: $500; court date: July 15.

Arrested and charged with driving on a revoked license

* Lucas E. Highfill, 23, Cornersville. Bond: $500; court date: June 11.

* Israel Velasquez, 30, Preston Avenue. Bond: $500; court date: June 3.

* Jessica G. Ruiz, 30, Shelbyville. Bond: $500; court date: June 3. Ruiz was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance, and driving an unregistered vehicle. At the jail, Ruiz was served with a probation-violation warrant, and on this the bond is $500; court date: June 18.

* Jennifer L. Niezgoda, 26, Pulaski. Bond: $1,000; court date: June 11.

Cited for driving on a suspended license

* Edward Webster IV, 19, Cornersville. Court date: June 10. Also cited for failure to provide proof of insurance, and inoperable left brake light.

Arrested and charged with driving without a license

* Roberto Jimenez Garcia, 38, 3rd Avenue North. Bond: $500; court date: June 3. Also cited for failure to provide proof of insurance, and improper display of tags.
