In honor of the 138th anniversary of Flag Day, the Robert Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a public Flag Day ceremony at the Abner Houston Memorial Cabin in Lewisburg on Wednesday morning. Flag Day has been recognized annually on June 14 since 1916 when President Woodrow Wilson issued the first presidential proclamation of a national Flag Day. Congress approved legislation in 1949 that designated the day as an official holiday.
