On Thursday, August 6, the Forrest Middle School girls volleyball team hosted Cascade in the school’s first ever match.
“Our JV and varsity both played so hard,” FMS coach Shanna Swift said. “We have a lot of potential to build this program and I am very proud of how well the girls executed what they have learned in practice.”
The Junior Varsity dominated both matches, winning 25-8 in the first set and 25-13 in the second set. The varsity squad came up short in both sets versus the Lady Champions, losing 25-16 and 25-22.
“It was tough going into the first game with no preseason scrimmages to learn from, but the girls were focused and have a drive to win,” Swift said. “Now that we have our first game behind us, we know what we need to work on.”
