Deason Jones took a behind the back pass from John Randle Dippold and banged home a 3-pointer to start the game for FMS before both squads went cold from the field.

FMS (10-3) hosted MTCS (10-3) Monday night looking for a little revenge from an earlier season loss and after a hot start, the Rockets faded in the second half as the Cougars won going away, 34-24.
Deason Jones took a behind the back pass from John Randle Dippold and banged home a 3-pointer to start the game for FMS before both squads went cold from the field.
One Andrew Adams free throw opened the scoring for the Cougars at the 3:13 mark of the first quarter and Aleric Watson put MTCS in front 4-3 shortly after with a 3-pointer.
FMS went on a 5-0 run behind a Hunter Bennett bucket and three points by Andrew Timmons to give Forrest an 8-4 lead.
Aleric Watson hit one free throw before Timmons scored to end the first quarter with the Rockets in front 10-5.
The Rockets scored just three points in the second quarter, while Adams netted seven points to add to 11 in the period for the Cougars who held a 16-13 halftime advantage.
Two minutes into the third period Aleric Watson scored in the low post to make it 18-13 and they had the ball again, but Dippold came up with a steal and score to keep the Rockets close at 18-15.
A 4-0 Cougar mini-run gave the visitors a 22-15 lead before Braden Bowyer and Tayton Swift scored on back-to-back possessions for FMS to trim the Cougar lead to 22-19.
Drew Owen came right back with a 3-pointer for MTCS and the third period ended with a Jeremiah Beasley bucket in the paint for the Rockets as they trailed 25-21 entering the final six minutes of play.
The Cougars began to pull away late in the fourth quarter, increasing their lead to seven points at 29-22 on an Aleric Watson low post bucket.
Deason kept the Rockets in the game with a driving layup to make it 29-24, but MTCS tallied the final five points in the contest to claim the 10-point win.
