The FMS Rockets are still alive thanks to a 6-1 win over the Huntland Hornets in the second round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament Wednesday night at Liberty.

Jordan Jent turned in a stout effort on the mound for FMS, going six innings for the win.

FMS Rockets stay alive

The FMS Rockets are still alive thanks to a 6-1 win over the Huntland Hornets in the second round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament Wednesday night at Liberty.

Jordan Jent turned in a stout effort on the mound for FMS, going six innings for the win.

Jent gave up zero earned runs on three hits, while striking out eight and walking three Hornet hitters.

Marshall McKee pitched the final inning and gave up one hit, walked one, and struck out one.

Forrest scored two runs in the both the first and second innings, while adding single runs in the fourth and sixth.

Jacob Jones continued his stellar play on the season at the plate, going 3-4 with two doubles and three runs scored.

Jonathan Lykins chipped in nicely with a 3-4 effort at the dish with an RBI, Luke Cunningham had two hits and scored a run, and Dustin Brashear went 1-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Jaylen Smith and Nathan Trout had the other two hits for FMS, who will take on Lincoln County in round three on Friday at 4 p.m. at Liberty.
