The Forrest girls' golf team defeated Eagleville 108-113 Monday at the Buford Ellington Golf Course inside Henry Horton State Park to remain unbeaten on the season at 5-0.
"The girls also have improved this year," said Forrest coach Jeremy Jean. "They really need to focus on their midrange game and putting. If they can do those things, the team could make it to the region."
Caitlin Burt led the Lady Rockets, shooting a 53 that included one par and four bogies 3,259-yard front nine layout.

Forrest girls
Caitlin Burt led the Lady Rockets, shooting a 53 that included one par and four bogies 3,259-yard front nine layout.
Dani Hoeft carded a 55 for Forrest, while Michal Toombs came home in 58 strokes.
The Lady Rockets played fairly well from tee to green, but had some short game mishaps that increased their totals.
"They are practice those things every day," said Jean. "We have to take what we learn and use it while we are on the course."
Only the top two scores for each team are used for the final tally.
Kenya Hackney led Eagleville with a 56, Karah Snell shot 57, and Taylor Turnage signed for a 58 to round out the Lady Eagles' scoring.
Rockets
In boys' action, the Rockets fell to 4-5 on the season when they finished in second place behind Columbia Central, falling by 21 strokes to the Lions.
Forrest shot 185 as a team with Gary Lukonen shooting a clean one-over par round of 37 that included a birdie on the Par 5 fourth hole.
"Gary will have to shoot under to help get the team into the region," said Jean. "If our three, four, and five players can get around 42, we would have a better chance to get in good shape for the post-season."
Lukonen's card also was etched with six pars and on two bogies on the 6,604 yard nine holes.
Hawken King also birdied the fourth hole for Forrest and came to the clubhouse in 41 strokes, while Jarvis Lyttle signed for a 48 and Tim Elliot's 59 rounded out the Rockets' scoring for the afternoon.
"Everyone has improved as the year has progressed," said Jean. "I think Robert (Garcia), Tim and Jarvis could be the ones to get to that number we need."
Columbia
Columbia Central's Jackson Calvin torched the Henry Horton layout, firing a bogey free, one-under par round of 35 that included back-to-back birdies on two and three.
Nolan Boone shot a 41 for the Lions, while David Sheppard carded a 43, Robert Johnson came home in 45 strokes, and Matt Bushey rounded out the Columbia scoring with a 52.
Eagleville
Eagleville finished in third place with a 192 as Dakota Beech had an off day, shooting a 42.
Torey Fusco added 46 strokes to the Eagleville total, while Ransom McRee shot a 48, and Matthew Boyette rounded out the Eagles' scoring with a 58.
The Rockets will be back in action today when they host Fayetteville and Forrest will play its last regular season match at Henry Horton on Thursday when they host Marshall County and Giles County.
The District Tournament will be held at Henry Horton on September 9 with start times scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. for the girls and 9 a.m. for the boys.
