The first local business to have its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday was Rooster's Liquidation Outlet on Horton Parkway. The outlet has been open for about a year, but never had an official Grand Opening. The store is owned by local resident Sam Palazollo and features many different types of merchandise from indoor and outdoor furniture to linens and small electronics. During the grand opening guests were offered snacks and cold drinks.
The second local business to have its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was North Side Liquor Store, also on Horton Parkway. During North Side Liquor Store's Grand Opening, they offered hotdogs, chips, and drinks to their customers. Inside the store customers and guests enjoyed a free margarita tasting. The store first opened on June 10. It is owned by Kenny and Joy Sweeney, but is operated by Blue Eady, Diane Hall, and Kristie Westover.
The third local business to have its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was HomeTown Clinic of Chapel Hill. The clinic is completely independent and owned by partners Christy Harris FNP and Amanda Ingram RNC, who both have roots in the Chapel Hill community. The clinic serves patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric with on-site x-ray and lab services. HomeTown Clinic serves as both a primary care clinic as well as a walk-in clinic. There are four practitioners on staff. Dr. Joe Fite is the supervising physician and will also maintain hours at HomeTown Clinic.
