Cornersville’s switch-hitting outfielder Hannah Hart recently signed a Letter of Intent to play softball next season on scholarship at Martin Methodist College at Pulaski.

“My biggest goal throughout high school has been to play college softball and I was very excited when coach (Brandie) Paul and (Taylor) Moore offered me,” Hart said. “I am excited to attend Martin not only for athletics, but also for academics.”

Hart, who currently sports a hefty 3.7 G.P.A. at Cornersville and wants to major in biology and become an environmental lawyer honed her skills on the softball diamond with the Alabama Blackhawks travel squad.

“When I toured MMC I honestly felt content and I could see myself as a student athlete at the school because they have such a close knit community and that is something that is very important to me,” Hart added. “I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my softball career, because without them I could not achieve my goals.”

First-year Cornersville Nathan Polk, who has the Lady Bulldogs battling for the District 8-A Tournament title said about Hart, “I feel Hannah’s coach-ability, coupled with her drive to continuously improve are two traits that make her a special player.”

“Hart has a positive attitude and always tries to pick up the team.” Polk added. “As her coach, I am extremely proud of her for pursuing her goals, her dream, and playing at the collegiate level. It is an opportunity not every player gets and it is a testament to Hannah’s hard work, dedication, and perseverance.”
