High flying LMS Tigers take win over Bulldogs

The LMS Tigers looked really strong Tuesday night at Cornersville as they displayed a high-flying act, a swarming defense, dead-eye three-point shooting, and some strong rebounding in a 40-21 win over the Bulldogs.

Marcus O’Neal was the only player in double figures in the game as he led the LMS offensive attack with 14 points with 12 coming on four three-pointers.

The tall Ronnie Lyttle had seven points, a couple of blocked shots, and a myriad of rebounds for the Tigers, who jumped out to a big 15-2 lead after the first period.

High flying LMS Tigers take win over Bulldogs

The LMS Tigers looked really strong Tuesday night at Cornersville as they displayed a high-flying act, a swarming defense, dead-eye three-point shooting, and some strong rebounding in a 40-21 win over the Bulldogs.

Marcus O’Neal was the only player in double figures in the game as he led the LMS offensive attack with 14 points with 12 coming on four three-pointers.

The tall Ronnie Lyttle had seven points, a couple of blocked shots, and a myriad of rebounds for the Tigers, who jumped out to a big 15-2 lead after the first period.

O’Neal had eight points and Lyttle had six points for the Tigers, while Gentry deposited one free throw in the opening period.

Both squads scored eight points in the second quarter as the Bulldogs tried to hang in behind four points from Blaine Woodard, three by Ben Franklin, and one free throw by Trenton Walker.

AJ Jones scored four in the quarter, Gentry banged home a trey, and Xavier Swaggerty made one free throw in the second quarter for the Tigers.

Unfortunately, the Tigers blanked the Bulldogs in the third period and scored 11 to take a commanding 34-10 lead in to the fourth quarter.

LMS went to the long ball in the stanza as O’Neal made two long bombs and Gentry had one three-pointer.

The Bulldogs never quit as they came back with a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Tigers 11-6 in the period.

Kel Ford had all four his points in the final stanza while Woodard scored three.

Woodard led the Bulldogs in the scoring column with seven points.

Hayden Grover and Ford had four points apiece, Franklin netted three, Jake Welch had a deuce, and Walker had one marker for the Bulldogs.
