The Lady Cougars scored an unearned run in the first inning, but Forrest got it right back on an RBI bunt single by Kiyoko Puca that scored Kelsey Darnell in the top of the second inning.
In the bottom of the third, MTCS took a 2-1 lead on an RBI fielder's choice by Kelsey Lester.
There was no scoring in the fourth inning and it looked like MTCS would come up with the huge upset as Patton retired the first two batters in the top of the fifth.
Lady Rocket rally
Warrick kept the game alive with a single to right field and Sara Jordan followed with an infield single.
Savannah Brothers walked to load the sacks, bringing up Daughrity, who bashed a two-strike pitch into the right/center field gap, scoring all three runners to put Forrest up by two runs.
Warrick retired the side in order in the bottom of the inning to seal the victory.
Puca, Warrick, Jordan, Daughrity, and Kaitlin Toombs all had one hit apiece in the contest.
Lead from start

The Lady Rockets extended their lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third on an RBI base hit by Jordan and bases loaded walk by Amanda Patterson.
Abby Sweeney led off the top of the fourth with a base hit for the Lady Cougars and came all the way around to score on an infield error by Forrest.
Another Forrest error, followed by a base hit by Patton made it a 4-2 ballgame.
Staying ahead
In the last inning of the twin bill, the Lady Rockets put up two huge insurance runs as Puca led off the frame with a 3-2 base on balls and was sacrificed to second by Jessica Harmon.
With Warrick at the plate, Puca took off for third when the ball got away from the MTCS catcher and came sailing home when the throw to get her bounded into foul territory.
Warrick ended up walking, and one out later, Brothers made it a 6-2 ballgame with an RBI base knock to left field.
Kayla Pickard drew a leadoff base on balls to lead off the fifth inning for MTCS before Jordan struck out the next Lady Cougar looking.
Devon Welker followed with an RBI double before Sweeney reached on a Forrest infield error that scored Welker, making it 6-4.
Jordan induced a ground out to third for the second out, but Sweeney caught Forrest napping, stealing home to cut the Lady Rockets' lead to 6-5.
No upset
Jordan slammed the door on the upset attempt, whiffing the last MTCS batter looking to complete the sweep for Forrest (10-3, 6-1).
Brothers went 2-2 in the ballgame with three RBIs and Jordan had two hits, knocked in one, and picked up the win in the circle, giving up just one earned run on three hits, while striking out seven Lady Cougars and walking three.
