Due to some key injuries, Forrest had just twelve players available for their first round District 9A-AA Tournament game versus Harpeth Monday night and the Lady Indians took advantage of the Lady Rockets' lack of depth in a 4-0 win.

Close miss

The Lady Rockets almost got on the board in the first minute of action on the pitch at Kingston Springs Elementary School when the Harpeth keeper batted a Sarah Blasingim blast away at the last second.

Caitlyn Yost would come up big with two nice saves in goal for Forrest on back-to-back rushes by Harpeth as the moved to the 22-minute mark of the first half.

Cassie Septer had a chance to score for the Lady Rockets, but could not find the net and moments later, a Blasingim free kick sailed high over the crossbar.

With 17:52 to play in the first half, Sydney Hoiberg broke the deadlock with an unassisted goal for the Lady Indians.

Harpeth takes over

Harpeth began to pepper the net over the next several minutes before making it a 2-0 contest on a goal by Allie Klapheke at the 10:24 mark of the first half.

Backed up in their own end, Forrest began to wear down and would not get another shot on the Harpeth goal the remainder of the first half.

Yost would come up with five great saves, keeping Forrest in the game before the first half whistle blew.

The Lady Indians kept the pressure on the visitors to begin the second half and with 34:35 remaining in the game, Britni Woodall scored for Harpeth to make it a three-nil ballgame.

Many saves

Yost made save after save for Forrest over the 10 minutes before Hoiberg came up with her second goal of the game, making it 4-0.

The only real good scoring chance Forrest had in the second half was free kick by LaDonna Stinson that just missed on the high side with 9:59 left in the game.

Elizabeth Pimentel would replace the worn-out Yost in goal at the midway point of the second and Pimentel held the Lady Indians scoreless the remainder of the game.

Returnees

Coach Natalie Dennis' squad will return five seniors next season in Blasingim, Stinson, Allison Perivolaris, Cassie Septer, and Sierra Waggoner.

Harpeth (6-10-1) would go on to lose to White House-Heritage in round two Tuesday.

The Community Viqueens (10-3-2), who beat Sycamore 6-1 in the opening round, lost to White House 3-1 Tuesday night, setting up an all White House final Thursday night.

White House won the title game 5-1.
